Dr. Sam Levine's new paper "Investigating β-lactam drug targets in Mycobacterium tuberculosis using chemical probes" has been deposited online.  Sam led this project, designing and synthesizing the probes and using them to study cell-wall cross-linking enzymes (e.g., PBPs and LDTs) in M. tuberculosis.  This work describes a new far-red fluorescent meropenem probe.  You can read it here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2019.12.19.881631v1
